Me, as a nature ambassador
With my rich background in adventure and nature, I am the perfect guide to introduce you to the breathtaking beauty of Estonia’s landscapes.
As a passionate nature enthusiast deeply connected to the Estonian wilderness, I can transform your hike into an unforgettable journey.
I invite you to explore nature with me – on foot, by bike, SUP, canoe, snowshoes, kick-sleds, touring skis or skates. Every season tells a different story. In spring, I lead silent hikes to honor bird nesting season and nature’s awakening. Instead of bog tours during nesting, we quietly wander forest trails and observe wildlife respectfully. In summer, we welcome the white nights with sunrise and sunset hikes and swims in bog lakes. Autumn brings the joy of foraging – berries, mushrooms and golden landscapes. Winter opens up snowy and icy trails to places unreachable in other seasons.
I deeply value coexisting with nature. That means respecting its rhythms – walking softly, listening carefully and adjusting our adventures to what the landscape needs. Together, we move in nature, not through it.
My journey into nature began the day my son was born. Suddenly, the city’s noise and hidden dangers no longer felt like a safe playground for a little pair of feet. I knew I had to rethink my career and find a role flexible enough to let me bring him along whenever I needed—and to shape our family life around what mattered most.
Through a happy twist of fate, my path led me to Sportland Kõrvemaa Matka- ja Suusakeskus, tucked deep in the forests of North Kõrvemaa. There, my mission became clear: to welcome more families—parents and children alike—out onto the trails and into the fresh air. My son quickly proved to be my most honest critic—if he loved an activity, I knew other children would too. Inspired by his enthusiasm, I designed a variety of nature programs for kids, families, school groups, and summer camps. In recognition of this work, I was honored at 2019 November as “Aasta matkategelane” (Hiker of the Year), a wonderful affirmation that creating nature-and-family-friendly experiences truly makes a difference.
Years passed in an exhilarating blur until one day, when floodwaters backed up by beaver dams carried me into the courtyard of Uuejärve Farm. Standing on a gentle ridge before the old log house, I felt in my bones that this was the place meant for me.
Through a remarkable sequence of serendipities, my son and I soon moved into the forests of North Kõrvemaa. In essence, thanks to my son I discovered a vocation perfectly aligned with our lifestyle; thanks to the beavers I found my dream home; and thanks to a chance glimpse of a bear in the woods, our sled dog Urkki came into our lives—a story all its own.
Now, after four years as a freelance nature guide, community nature-tourism developer, and project manager at the Estonian Nature Tourism Association, I’ve unearthed my earthly paradise—a place that seems to call out to everyone who is destined to find it.
I am dedicated to offering unique and memorable nature experiences. Whether you are new to hiking or an experienced adventurer, I tailor each hike to be an exciting exploration, a nature observation, and an educational journey—all in one. My commitment to nature hikes is reflected in every step of the way.
